The 1-Year Anniversary
Today marks a year since I started Algo-Fin. My vision for this newsletter when I began writing was to create a space that prioritised the fundamental analysis of the forex markets. A space where supply and demand were identified as the key drivers and provide studies of how to break down this push-pull dynamic into its constituents. Along the way, I also wanted to impart my knowledge about data science. Having spent a few years working in the trading industry as a Data Scientist and also devoting a significant amount of time into understanding analytics, predictive modelling and insightful visualisations, the ultimate goal was and still is to be able to bring our understanding of supply and demand of the forex markets into an analytical framework that can help us make insights about the markets. We’re still working towards this goal as I write this, but over the past year, I truly believe this newsletter has taken huge strides towards that and I look forward to seeing it come to fruition over the coming months.
I wouldn’t have the motivation to write and research without a group of subscribers behind me. I’ve got to thank everyone that’s opened an email over the past year for their support. Everyone that’s commented, tweeted an article, shared with their friends - thank you.
Looking to the future, the next year is one where I hope to bring more of my studies together in a unified format. Look out for more detailed reports, current events commentaries and white papers detailing analyses on important datasets. I’m also looking to open up my paid channel in the coming months, through which you’ll get access to interactive dashboards, GitHub repositories of my models and courses on topics from how to get started in Tableau to building advances machine learning models in Python.
The next year is going to be a blockbuster one for sure. Thanks for being on the journey so far, but strap in tight because it’s full steam ahead from here.
